Fatigue and weakness are among the symptoms of iron deficiency anemia. Vegetarians are among the people most likely to develop iron deficiency anemia, if they don’t replace meat with some other iron-rich food or take iron pills. Girls who have just started menstruating are also at risk of developing iron deficiency anemia.
Zinc and magnesium also help the body produce energy. Magnesium is particularly important, for it helps the body strengthen bones and make ATP.
